We like to discuss issues relevant to the projects in India, organize talks of social workers, and create a forum for creating greater awareness about pertinent issues in India. We also organize events to showcase our rich and venerable culture heritage here in Houston.

About AID HoustonThe AID Houston chapter is a group of young professionals and students. We currently support a range of rural development projects in alternate education, anti-corruption through Right to Information Act, women’s empowerment, prevention of communal and domestic violence, participation in rural level government (the Panchayati Raj Institutions), organic farming, and natural resource management.
They affect not only the poor and the weak but ALL OF US. So we support projects run by our partner NGOs in India that are working on sustainable grass-root level solutions to these problems. Our volunteers work on fundraising ideas, help review project proposals, initiate and provide support for projects, review and monitor progress of projects, campaigns and other activities of AID. Volunteers also have the option to visit project areas during their trip to India, share their experience of AID's work in villages with the NRI community, during community events and participate in relevant campaigns from the US and in India. We also provide volunteer opportunities with our partner organizations to interested volunteers. |
